Jean Johnson, Leadership Coach
Jean Johnson has a commitment to supporting leaders to leverage and enhance their leadership capabilities and create the most rewarding future for themselves and their organizations.
She works with individuals as a catalyst for enhanced professional effectiveness with a holistic approach emphasizing the inherent wisdom within each of us. Through their work together, clients are able to see new possibilities for their professional development and life quandaries. Jean believes that each of us has the power to transform our world through the potential created with powerful conversation. She relishes the journey she takes alongside each client as they take on the important work of self-discovery, learning, and practicing new behaviors that lead to transformation in their leadership style and life.
As a leadership coach, Jean's typical clients include leaders facing challenges and professional transitions. Her coaching experience spans the business, non-profit and governmental sectors.
With more than 10 years of small business-related experience, Jean has consulted with over 400 small business owners, coaching them through a the full range of management startup and operational challenges.
Jean has been a member of several non-profit boards and sees non-profit organizations as being key transformational entities in creating a way for individuals to positively impact the future they envision.
In addition to her role as a leadership coach and consultant, Jean has experience in program development and administration in state and local governments and educational settings, marketing campaign development, project management as well as development and delivery of dozens of training programs.
Jean is a graduate of the Leadership Coaching program at Georgetown Universityand is credentialed at the ACC level by the International Coach Federation. She has an MBA in Marketing & Operations from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky. Jean is certified practitioner of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. She also has had training by the Edward Lowe Foundation as a PeerSpectives (peer learning for small business owners) facilitator and as well as certification as a Basic Small Business Consultant by Grand Valley State University. She is a lifelong learner, a member of the International Coach Federation, the International Consortium For Coaching in Organizations, the Professional Coaching Association of Michigan and other organizations that support professional development.
Jean enjoys time together with her husband and two children, as well as reading, traveling and walking the dogs.
